7.4 Limited Racing Studs
OPTION A
Maximum stud dimensions: 5/16-18 threaded bolts (or M8x1.25). , 1.25 inches long (31.75mm). Metal studs of any type smaller than this will still be counted as studs, including screws through the tire.
Maximum limited race stud count per tire is 175 studs

*Minimum Tire tread depth is defined as the tread depth where on the tire the tread depth is smallest.
**For this calculation, Hoosiers or any other slick tires will be regarded as tires with under 8/32nds of tread

This is intended to maintain a maximum stud exposure into the ice of ~14mm. Tech and organizers maintain the right to ban tires outside of the targeted envelope, regardless of construction.

Bolts may be sharpened.

OPTION B

MF44 Endurance II
Head socket: 1/4" Hex (6.35mm)
Head height: 0.33” (8.4mm) (Washer thickness included)
Washer diameter 1/2". (12.70mm)
Mechanical tread: 10/32”
Screw use nylon insert lock nut inside of the tire

These limited race studs are only to be used in CACC- Ice X, ICE LAPPING, ICE ATTACK events
These rules and limited race studs may be used at each club’s discretion, must have a minimum ice thickness of 12”

expand the tire specifications section 7 to include limited racing studs which will grow the sport to allow for more grip on ice courses.
