Novice Race License
While Time Attack is sufficient for many participants, some will want to move into the wheel to wheel race environment. Time Attack is viewed as a stepping stone to Race - a natural progression. CACC Senior Time Attack license holder who have held their Senior Time Attack license a minimum of three years and participated in a minimum of three events per year may, at the discretion of the CACC Novice Race Director, be eligible to be considered for a Novice Race License.

Reason for Rule Change

We have often heard time attack referred to as the stepping stone to wheel to wheel racing. Each year Time Attack has seen drivers from our ranks progress into Race quite successfully. CACC Race Regulation 3.4.8 discusses a waiver for experienced drivers. It has been used infrequently in the past. I personally am seeking this waiver currently. It is important that we are transparent and publicize all of our options in our regulations. The requirement of three years of experience with a minimum of three events per year ensures a solid track background prior to applying for access to race via the 3.4.8 waiver.
